ORATION FOR Mr. DICKIE CHAN

It is an Honor to have this opportunity to say a few words about a GREAT MAN and FRIEND that I have known for almost 25 years….DICKIE CHAN.

To everything there is a season,

and a time for every purpose under the HEAVEN.

A time to be born,

and a time to die.

A time to weep,

and a time to laugh.

A time to morn,

and a time to dance.

We all gather here today to pay TRIBUTE to the life of Dickie Chan.  He was my Friend, an outstanding businessman, a husband, a father, a grandfather, a leader, and a great boss….and YES, we will all miss him.

Dickie was my Friend as well as my business partner.  For 25 years we worked very hard together and we also had many good times and laughs together. We tried a massage, went to the horserace track (Dickie always won), gambled together in Las Vegas  (again Dickie was a winner), and we ate dinner at Joe’s Stone Crab Restaurant in Miami Florida.    This was a real treat because Dickie did not like the extra long flight to Miami.  Dickie loved the stone crabs but John wanted steak.  All were Great times that I will always cherish and remember.

Working together was also a joy.  We would be making changes to existing products or look to develop a new product.   Dickie was the very “Best” at doing both.  Dickie could always create a new challenge for both TK and Vienna.  Over the years there were many successful products that we developed for Dickson customers.  The rewards were many as the result of the hard work of Dickie and his loyal team.

Work, business, food, sake, and making sure that everyone was treated “Special” was Dickie’s way.  He wanted to take care of everyone.

Dickie Chan,  You are a “Special Person” and I thank you for sharing your “LIFE” with me and all of your friends.  Your Legacy will live on.  May you now “Rest in Peace”.
